“Sail among marigold flowers, discover the legend of Mictlán and honor the memory with an intimate Day of the Dead experience in the heart of Xochimilco.”
An experience of water, memory and worldview.
Discover the legends of Xóchitl and Huitzilin, the journey to Mictlán, and the Mexica worldview of life, memory, and transformation. Visit a working chinampa, connect with the landscape through a creative exercise, and participate in creating a symbolic floating offering on the wetland's waters.
The experience culminates with a traditional seasonal dinner, featuring flavors from Xochimilco, pan de muerto, tamales, atole, and other ingredients whose meaning you will discover during the gathering.
Take a marigold seed with you and keep the memory of this experience alive when it blooms next year. If you cannot transport it to your country, we can plant it in the chinampa and share photos of its growth with you.
A cultural, contemplative and participatory experience to discover the Day of the Dead beyond the conventional tours, in contact with nature and the living traditions of Xochimilco
